Ready to give up the day job and become a florist? If you have a deep love of flowers and want to turn your passion into a successful career, then keep reading.
Merchant & Green’s new Floral Decorator Series is a three-week intensive, designed for beginners and those wanting to take their skills to the next level. You will first work on strong foundation skills and, week by week, we will build on your knowledge and abilities – creating a range of inspiring and intricate designs.
Taught by experienced industry professionals, we delve into colour and design, cover contemporary techniques, show you how to condition and care for flowers, and—of course—focus on floral design. You will learn everything from how to create a beautiful hand-tied posie to presentation bouquets to impactful table arrangements. Included is a session in our floral studio to gain practical insight into the flower business and customer service skills so you can hit the ground running.
The Merchant & Green Floral Decorator Series is a privately-run course without a government-regulated curriculum. This allows us the freedom to custom design every step to the needs of our students. Our goal is to teach you all the necessary techniques while also nurturing your own, unique talents and creative aesthetic. It’s a very hands-on course, and we restrict the number of students to ensure plenty of dedicated teacher time.
You’ll come away with a beautiful visual diary filled with detailed information on seasonal flowers and a record of your creative process. We will provide all the fresh flowers and tools to complete this course.
A Merchant & Green floral decorator kit, including tool box, scissors, rose strippers, apron, secateurs, available for purchase for an extra charge in the studio.
